Abstract: The use of new technologies is increasingly in our lives, making our life and interpersonal relationships easier, although is still scarce the number of researches on the effectiveness of virtual games in education. Playful activities are interesting ways to emphasize a content with the proposal to motivate learning and assist in the formation of knowledge. Environmental education, which is now part of the curriculum promotes social integration through comprehension of the environment influencing attitudes that change people's behavior. Thus, this study aimed to conduct a survey of virtual games in environmental education and perform a qualitative analysis to verify if the content promotes learning suggesting improvements in future versions to complement the teaching of Science. The research was structured in 3 phases: (1) survey of virtual games geared to environmental education; (2) evaluation of the games by heuristic method through ten parameters considered effective for education and (3) comparison and development of suggestions in order to improve the quality of the new games. Most reviewed games features a mechanical method of trial and error, which for the absorption of knowledge is irrelevant. From the reviews, were listed suggestions for the development of future games where they must explore further: (a) the approach of content more deeply; (b) a clear explanation of the objectives of the games; (c) the themes check thoroughly in order not to make mistakes in the propagation of knowledge; (d) work on content beyond mechanization of games and (e) the use of topics on sustainability in addition to the trash
